The Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners, Nigeria promotes professional practice, education, research and collaboration among practitioners committed to whole-person care.
The Association of Integrative Medicine Practitioners, Nigeria is a professional body committed to advancing the responsible practice, education and development of integrative medicine across the country. We bring practitioners, researchers and allied professionals together under shared standards of practice.
Our members work across conventional and complementary disciplines, united by a commitment to safe, evidence-informed, whole-person care for Nigerian patients.
Integrative medicine is an approach to healthcare that combines conventional, evidence-based medical treatment with complementary therapies that have credible evidence of safety and effectiveness. Rather than treating a single symptom in isolation, it looks at the whole person — physical, nutritional, environmental and lifestyle factors that affect health.
Practitioners of integrative medicine work alongside, not in place of, mainstream healthcare — coordinating care so that patients receive treatment that is both scientifically grounded and genuinely responsive to their circumstances. In the Nigerian context, this includes recognising the role that well-regulated traditional and complementary practices can play alongside conventional care, under proper professional standards.
Integrative medicine sits at the overlap: coordinated, whole-person care.
